Facilitator
Throughout my practise as a facilitator, I'm driven by a desire to breakdown barriers & challenge preconceptions of what theatre is & who it is for . I want to encourage those who have previously felt alienated from the arts to take ownership over & become active stakeholders in creative pieces of work. Underpinning all of this is a deep desire to put communities & their stories first. My experience and training is vast from my project, 'A Message on a Map' for The Love Your Town Festival (Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Immingham) to working with children & young people aged 4-15.
Qualifications:
- First Aid Trained

The Theatre makers network
Working in collaboration with Hani Projects, I've been commissioned by Create NEL, to establish a Theatre Makers Network in my home area of North East Lincolnshire.

I'll spend the next 6 months facilitating twice monthly sessions in venues across the local area. The first will act as a check in for the network, responding to their needs and wants. During the second we'll bring theatre practitioners in from the wider region to share their expertise. Current planned practitioners include Sheffield Theatre's Talent Development Coordinator, Tommi Bryson.

The network exists to connect and upskill theatre creatives in North East Lincolnshire

Message on a Map

I was commissioned to deliver 'A Message on a Map' for local festival, 'Love Your Town'. The festival spanned the three towns of Immingham, Grimsby and Cleethorpes over three weekends. Focusing on reviving & encouraging footfall to each local high street, the festival celebrated & instilled pride in each town. For this project specifically, I commissioned local artist, Francesca Young, to draw a map of the area. I then invited the community to leave their place based memories on an enlarged version. Local Immingham poet, James Hall, then used these memories as inspiration for three poems (one for each Town) that were mailed out to participants. Within this project, I wanted to encourage people that feel 'theatre isn't for them' to become stakeholders in creating a piece of work.
